Being chosen and feeling special for a week changes how our students see themselves, and it changes how others relate to them. It helps us to build a sense of family in Room 10.
Most Valuable PersonDuring the school year each of our students is awarded the privilege of being MVP for a week! If there is a special date in your child's life, please let me know at Back to School Night. Otherwise, we draw student names one at
a time and let them choose their week.
MVP MondayOur MVP student is a line leader for the week. MVP’s may also make a photo poster to put on display if they wish.
Recognition TuesdayOur MVP student is recognized with a certificate.
Lunch Buddy Wednesday Join your MVP for a special lunch. You may also invite a sibling or a favorite relative to be your child’s lunch buddy. Surprise your child or let them know who their buddy will be ahead of time. If you are unable to join us during our lunch period (11:50-12:30), please let me know, and I will plan a special lunch for your child. I’m flexible on Lunch Buddy Wednesday too.
Guests must sign in at the office. Favorite Poem ThursdayOur MVP student brings—or finds—one of his or her favorite poems to read to the class. MVP’s read the entire poem aloud if it can be read in less than two minutes, or read their favorite part if the poem is longer. We usually do this just before lunch.
Sharing Time FridayOur MVP has a short sharing time (about 10 minutes) on the last day of their special week.
No pets or toys please. |
